APPOINTMENTS.

The following appointments have been made: — 

Mr. James Norton Brooks, Acting police magistrate, Maitland, to be coroner for the district, and for the colony generally, vice Vindin, resigned

Mr. Donald Manson, J.P., to be deputy licensing magistrate of the licensing court for the licensing district of Hill End (during the absence of W. A. Stool, police magistrate), vice Robertson, relieved

Mr. Henry James Greville, chief clerk, to be accountant, with rank next after the Registrar in Bankruptcy

Mr. Aubrey Murray Palmer Mowle, second clerk, to be chief clerk, vice Greville

Mr. James Fitzpatrick Carroll, fourth clerk, to be second clerk, Vice Mowle

Mr. Harold A. Rich, fifth clerk, to be fourth clerk, vice Carroll

Mr. George Yeo, now temporarily employed, to be draftsman in the office of the Chief Inspector of Stock, vice Leigh, transferred

Mr. Arthur Nash  to be telegraph operator at South Head, vice Emanuel

The undermentioned officiating minister has been registered for the celebration of marriages: — 

Roman Catholic Church (diocese of Wilcannia), Rev. Edward Morrissey — residence Hay. 

Mrs. Mary Watson to be acting assistant registrar of births, deaths, and marriages for the district of Canterbury, at Ashfield, from February 1, during the absence of Mr. George Watson on account of illness. 

The bench of magistrates at Windsor have appointed Mr. Patrick Daley to be pound-keeper at Wilberforce.

NEW POST OFFICES.

A post office was established on January 20 at Castlerag, near Deepwater; a post office will be established on February 1 at Salt Ash, near William Town.

NEW POLLING PLACE.

The undermentioned place to be a polling place for taking the poll at the election of members to serve in the Legislative Assembly for the electoral district of Grenfell, viz. Bygalore Station.

REWARD.

Whereas during the night of December 4, 1889, certain property situated in the Temperance Hall, at Croki, near Coopernook; was wilfully and maliciously injured by some person or persons unknown, notice is hereby given that a reward of L25 will be paid by the Government, in addition to a reward of L100 offered by the Star of Hope Lodge, No. 55, Independent Order of Good Templars, for such information as shall lead to the apprehension and conviction of the guilty person or persons.

NEW PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

It is proposed to establish Public schools at Wentworthville, near Parramatta; Peak Hill, via Tomingley, and Bombo, near Kiama.
